Seakale

Brief Description Location Inside Downstairs Upstairs Photo Album

Location
Rye Harbour sits between the inlet of the River Rother, that still supports a significant day boat fishing fleet and the 200 acre Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, the home of over 350 species of flowering plant and 50 species of nesting birds. The cottage is located at the end of an unmade track with a ramshackle collection of houses either side, Seakale sits in its own little track off this, in between an identical cottage and barn.

The house is literally on the doorstep of the nature reserve and is about 4 minutes walk from the river frontage, boat slip way and village pub. The village shop is conveniently at the end of the track (3 minutes) and the main entrance to the nature reserve that surrounds us and the path to the beach are only 4 minutes by foot. From here there lies many miles of paths and beach to explore, either by foot or by bike. The historic old town of Rye is 5 minutes away by car.
